How to become a Christian

1.Recognize that you are a sinner and hopelessly lost without Christ. (Rom. 3:12,23; 6:23; John 3:5-7,16; 2Cor. 4:3,4)

2. Believe the good news that God sent Jesus Christ to take your place, died in your stead, and paid the full penalty for sin. He was raised from the dead. (Rom. 5:8; 1 Cor. 15:1-15; I John 2:1,2; 2 Cor. 5:14-17)

3. Begin to confess this with your mouth and believe in your heart that God, through Christ, can save you. (Rom. 10:9,10; John 3:3-7,16; Heb. 7:25)

4. Rely on God’s Word and not your own feelings or theories. (Rom. 1:16; 2 Cor. 1:20)

5. Realize that you are saved by grace through faith in Christ, not anything you have done. (John 3:16; Eph. 2:8,9; I John 1:9; Rom. 3:25)

If you died and stood before God and He asked you, “Why should I let you into heaven,” what would your response be?

What are you basing your salvation on?

Are you ready to become a Christian?

Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. Your Word declares that “God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” I confess my belief in Jesus and know that you give unto me salvation. You said in your Word, “If I shall confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead; thou shalt be saved.” I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that He lived, died and was raised from the dead for my justification. I am calling upon the name of Jesus, so I know, Father that you save me now. Your Word says “…with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” I do believe with my heart, and I confess Jesus now as my Lord. Therefore, I am saved! Thank you, Father, in Jesus’ name.
